The Friends of the Library spring book sale is happening Friday, February 23 from 9:00 until 5:00, and Saturday from 9:00 until 1:00. There are many books, DVD’s, and CD’s that have never been in the book sale before, and the prices can’t be beat. Come out and help the Friends help the Library!
Take Your Child to the Library Day was so successful, we will do it again! This will be scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd, and there will be stories, games, refreshments, and prizes for every child who joins us from 10:00 to 12:00. There may even be a small gift for any parent or guardian who brings a child to the library that day!
The library, as well as all Overton County offices, will be closed on Tuesday, March 5, for Election Day.
The library will also be closed on Friday, March 15 for staff training. We are getting ready to implement a new circulation system, and all staff members will be learning how to make this experience the best for our customers. With this new system, there will be an app available for the public which will make it easier to search our catalog for material. We are excited to bring this new software to everyone, and hope that everyone will benefit from the change.
There are many other events at the library in March.
The Crafters Club meets every Tuesday at 9:00 in the meeting room.
Story Time is every Thursday at 10:30.
Another Bridge class will be on Thursday, March 14 at 1:00.
The Quilters will meet on Monday, March 18.
The Beekeepers will meet on Thursday, March 21 at 6:00.
There are several new books in the library recently. These will be the last new books added until our new circulation system is up and running, but we will continue to process books to have them ready to add to our shelves in mid-March.
New titles include:

New nonfiction titles include:
“The Spirituality of Dreaming” by Kelly Bulkeley, “Wheat Belly?10-Day Grain Detox” by William Davis, MD, “Field Guide to the Birds of North America” by Ted Floyd, “Sex With Presidents” by Eleanor Herman, and “What Really Happens in Vegas: True Stories of the People Who Make Vegas, Vegas” by James Patterson and Mark Seal.
