About Our Staff

Judith Cutright
Library Director
Her career in library work began in the 1970’s, when she worked at her school library. Library work continued for 27 years at the Clay County Library in Celina before transferring to the Millard Oakley Public Library in 2022. She has been married for over 40 years and has two children, three grandchildren, and three fur babies. In her spare time, she loves to read, garden, scuba dive, crochet, and play with her grandchildren.

Eysha Smith
Assistant Director
Eysha is a former stay-at-home mom of four boys and enjoys volunteering in our community. She helps out at our schools and the 4-H Extension Program. As Assistant Director at Millard Oakley Library, Eysha is always eager to help our patrons and you. Assisting Angie with Story Time and Summer Reading Programs is a favorite part of her job, as is getting to know all the children and allowing for a safe learning environment. She works hard managing the library’s social media and an array of other daily tasks and coming up with new ideas to spread positivity and a love for reading. Eysha enjoys the comradery she has gained with her coworkers and patrons. She never expected that a friendship with a catalog clerk, coupled with her passion to assist people, would lead to a wonderful career opportunity.

Brandy Hammock
Cataloger
Brandy enjoys getting all the new material ready for our customers. She will help you in any way she can with your library needs. She loves to see new patrons come in and get library cards to start their reading journey. She has lived in Overton County her whole life and has three boys and a girl. When she isn’t working, she is spending time with her family or looking for new pineapple décor.

Chelsea Patterson
Teen Services Coordinator
Chelsea has been with the Millard Oakley Public Library since December 2023. Prior to library work, she was a CNA for 13 years. Needless to say, she has a passion for serving the community. Chelsea helps patrons by finding items in our library as well as borrowing items from other libraries; helps new patrons obtain library cards; covers books; and catalogs. Chelsea also works hard on the calendar for all library events. Chelsea is a Detroit native who has called Tennessee her home since 2002. She has been married since 2013 and has 3 children and a small zoo. In her spare time, she enjoys music of all kinds, painting, crafts, gardening, concert-going, reading, and anything spooky.

Angie Boone
Children's Services Coordinator
Angie remembers the excitement of her first library experience in elementary school as she raced to the Curious George books, hoping to be lucky enough to grab one to check it out for the week. She was born and raised in the Upper Cumberland and is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University. Her lifelong love for reading and learning has culminated in a perfect job as the Children Services Coordinator at Millard Oakley Public Library. She also loves greeting patrons and helping out with the many, diverse services the library offers to the community. Angie can often be heard saying, “I learn something new every day,” and she looks forward to helping children learn and discover the love of reading.

Kellie Poston
Adult Services Coordinator
Kellie is a former LPN with 14 years of experience caring for and supporting others. Helping people has always been an important part of who she is. Kellie is a proud mother of two children and a loving grandmother to one wonderful granddaughter, and spending time with her family is one of her greatest joys. Kellie has always had a deep love for reading and has enjoyed visiting the library for as long as she can remember. Books have been a source of comfort, learning, and inspiration throughout her life. When she is not making memories with her family, you can usually find her with a good book in hand. Kellie values kindness, lifelong learning, and meaningful connections that have shaped her into the person she is today.
Our Story: Since May 2007
We opened our doors on May 19, 2007, for the first time to the citizens of Overton County. The Millard Oakley Public Library was made possible by a very generous resident of Overton County, Mr. Millard Oakley and his wife, J.J and public grants. Their love and interest in furthering education and investing in future generations, has resulted in area colleges and municipalities being endowed with both buildings and funds for many projects and programs. They wanted to invest more in society than they took out.
Our Mission & Vision
The Millard Oakley Public Library exists to serve its community. Its primary function is to select, organize, preserve and make freely available to everyone in its service area, materials that will assist its users in fulfilling their education, informational, cultural, and recreational needs.
