Millard Oakley Public Library News
13 December 2024

The Millard Oakley Library Staff and the Friends of the Library would like to invite everyone to join us at the library on December 23, 2024.  We will be hosting an open house beginning at 11:00 a.m. Door prizes will be given out every 15 minutes, and our 8-foot tall Christmas Stocking will be raffled at 12:30.  Tickets for the raffle are only $1.00, and all funds raised from the raffle will help support programs at the library.

Several businesses have donated door prizes for this event.  Everyone who shows up has the opportunity to win something from 1806 BBQ, Daisy Mae’s, EB Grays, The Emporium, Hill Holler Farms, Livingston Nutrition, Liv’n Country, or the Overton Department Store.

The Holiday Magic will continue at 1:00, when Magical Entertainer Bruce Amato will put on a show of magic and fun with a holiday theme that is for all ages. Mark your calendar for December 23, and come see what your library is all about!

The library will be closed on December 24 and December 25 to allow our staff to enjoy the holidays with their families.  We wish everyone a joyous, safe holiday!

The library will close again on January 1, 2025 for the New Year holiday.

There are several new books added to the library collection.  New titles include “Targeted:  Beirut” by Jack Carr, “In Too Deep” by Lee Child, “I Think I Was Murdered” by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker, “Easy Money” by Will Cook, “Resting Witch Face” by Juliette Cross, “A Fever in the Heartland” by Timothy Egan, “Gun Law at Laramie” by Allan Vaughan Elston, “Now or Never:  Thirty-One On The Run” by Janet Evanovich, “A Great Deliverance” by Elizabeth George, “Unforgotten” by Shelley Shepard Gray, “Bullets For Mulvane” by William Heuman, “Just Another Missing Person” by Gillian McAllister, “An Unreliable Truth” by Victor Methos, “Beer For All Seasons” by Randy Mosher, “The Tuscan Secret” by Angela Petch, “Dark Night” by Paige Shelton, “A Game of Retribution” by Scarlett St. Clair, and “The Author’s Guide to Murder” by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White.
