Millard Oakley Public Library News
 July 2, 2026
The Millard Oakley Public Library summer reading program has been very popular with our young readers.
There are only three more weeks for our participants to log their reading and pick up their prizes.
On July 9, Dave Mitchell will be putting on a magic show for our readers.
On July 16, the Science Guys will be here to unearth the story of our planet through interactive elements that explore planetary motion, the elements, changes over time, and even eruptions!
Please understand that for our special shows, seating is limited.
We will have an area set up for stroller parking, and we ask that you please pre-register to let us know you are coming.
Our final summer reading program will be at Livingston Central Park on July 23, weather permitting.
Final prizes will be awarded for our top readers in three age categories, and we will also have several door prizes for those attending.
We are so proud of all the accomplishments of our young readers.
Many have already met or exceeded the goals set for their summer reading!
The staff would also like to thank all of our local sponsors.

Summer is a great time to visit the library and beat the heat.
There are several programs this month to help keep hands and minds busy.
Our crafters are still meeting every Tuesday morning at 9:00.
There will be a basket class on Saturday, July 18.
There is a fee associated with this class, and preregistration is required to make sure there are enough supplies.
The Upper Cumberland Paranormal & Cryptid Round Table will meet on Wednesday, July 22, at 6:00.
The board meeting that was scheduled for July 21 has been cancelled.
Please stop by the library or check out our Facebook page for a full calendar of events.
