Millard Oakley Public Library News
September 1, 2023
The Millard Oakley Public Library is proud to announce that we will be working with Tennessee State Library and Archives, as well as ETSU, to give the gift of color to 3 Overton County residents. One in every 12 men, and one in every 200 women, are color-blind. We are looking for three people who experience color blindness, and would be willing to try colorblind-correcting glasses. For those who qualify, they will receive their own pair of glasses to keep. If this is you, or if you know someone who is, please contact Judith at 931-823-1888 at the library before September 8.
Story Time at the library is every Thursday in our meeting room at 10:30.
The Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday, September 14, at 4:30.
The Millard Oakley Library Board will meet on September 19 at 4:30.
There are several new books added to the library recently. New titles include:
“Waiting For Eden” by Elliot Ackerman, “After Disasters” by Viet Dinh, “The Silver Flame” by L. L. Foreman, “Lazy H Feud” by Ed La Vanway, “Adjustment Day” by Chuck Palahniuk, “Red Moon” by Kim Stanley Robinson, and “Tress of the Emerald Sea” by Brandon Sanderson.
