Millard Oakley Public Library News
December 2, 2022
Did you know……your library is so much more than books?
The spotlight this week is on our musical instruments. We have a guitar and ukulele available for loan, as long as you are a current patron with no items overdue. These instruments are part of our Library of Things, which we hope to expand soon!
The Millard Oakley Public Library has several events scheduled for the month of December. Regular events include:
- Crafters Club meeting every Tuesday at 9:00 in our meeting room.
- Story Time is every Thursday beginning at 10:30.
- Our Book Club will meet on Tuesday, December 6 at 11:00.
- Medicare 101 will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 5:00.
- The Friends of the Library will hold their winter book sale on Friday, December 9 from 9:00 until 5:00, and Saturday, December 10 from 9:00 until 1:00.
- The Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday, December 15 at 11:30.
Please note that the library, as well as all Overton County offices, will be closed December 23-26 for the Christmas Holiday. This will allow our staff time to spend with their families. We will also close Monday, January 2, 2023, for the New Year holiday.
Recent additions to the library include:
“Sounding Joy” by Ellie Holcomb, “The Broken Tower” by Kelly Braffet, “The Romanovs” by Simon Sebag Montefiore, “Single Dad” by Noelle Adams, “Daughter of Darkness” by Terry Brooks, “Fame” by Molly McAdams, “When We Were Vikings” by Andrew David McDonald, “A Christmas Deliverance” by Anne Perry, and “Dashing Through the Snowbirds” by Donna Adams.
