The Millard Oakley Public Library Summer Reading program is about to begin!
We have a full summer for our young readers, starting this Thursday, June 1, with Summer Reading beginning at 10:30.
Casa Nueva will provide our young participants with lunch, and at 1:00 Sam the Turtle Presents “The Friendship Adventure Show”. Sam the Turtle, Mr. Barry and Hyena the Chicken are three friends working together for laughs. Their adventure includes magic, puppets and funny stuff. With all these guys in one van, they are learning about kindness, compassion and loud snoring.
The Summer Reading Program will continue every Wednesday and Thursday through July 27.
There are several other guests scheduled, including Ollie Otter, Jason Ward and his guitar, Standing Stone Park Ranger Shawn, Bruce Amato the Magician, and the Science Guys. Stop by the library and pick up a calendar for more details!
There are many other activities happening at the library, including the Crafter’s Club every Tuesday morning at 9:00, the Friends of the Library meeting on June 15 at 4:30, and our BOOK SALE on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.
Starting June 26, the library will be getting a little work done.
Our meeting room, entryway, and restrooms will have a fresh coat of paint put on. While this is happening, while there may be some slight detours. We will do our best to remain open and offering services to our community.
