Millard Oakley Public Library News
15 November 2024
The Millard Oakley Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and reopen Monday, December 2 at 9:00. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
The Friends of the Library are planning a Christmas Open House at the library on December 23. There will be food, Friends and fun! Bruce Amato will be here performing at 1:00, and the Friends will raffle off an 8-foot stocking. Chances will be just $1.00, and all money raised will help support programs at the library. Mark your calendar for this event, and take a break from the pre-holiday rush.
There are many other events happening at the library, including story time every Thursday at 10:30, Crafters Club every Tuesday at 9:00, and the Book Club on December 3 at 11:00. Stop by the library for a full calendar of events.
There are several new STEAM kits available. These kits contain a book and matching activities and games to help learn about subjects such as “The History of Flight”, “World Traveler”, “Electronic Learning”, “Physics Fun”, and “The Night Sky”.
There are several new book titles in as well, including “The Forest of Lost Souls” by Dean Koontz, “Sleep Tight” by J. H. Markert, “The Boyfriend” by Freida McFadden, “The Untitled Books” by C. J. Archer, “The Restless Wave” by Admiral James Stavridis, “The Great When” by Alan Moore, and “Identity Unknown” by Patricia Cornwell.
“A wise man’s question contains half the answer.” Solomon Ibn Gabirol.
